Topps Home Team Advantage Program

Members of Topps Home Team Advantage (HTA) Program have access to special versions of Topps trading cards. For any card Topps makes, they usually produce slightly different versions depending on the type of store ("channel") the cards will be sold in. Usually there will be "retail," "magazine," "hobby" and "HTA" versions. The HTA product typically comes in jumbo size packs with more cards. Often there are inserts that may not be available in other versions and the odds of getting good inserts is a bit higher. Basically, the HTA packs are better for your customers.

Also, the HTA version is usually more scarce. The HTA product is limited and we can only sell these to retailers with "bricks and mortar" storefronts with an ongoing operation. Your application must be approved by Topps before we can sell HTA products to you. Topps does not accept the applications at all times. There are "windows" of opportunity every year or less!

You'll notice some pretty invasive requirements on the application! You have to send pictures of your store that show the full front of the store with sign and store address in window, all 4 walls of the interior of your store must be visible, clear photos, the page of your local phone directory with your store listed, a copy of your most recent phone bill and utility bills. What's all that for? Topps' HTA program responds to the requests of retailers. Retailers who support an ongoing operation open regular hours and carrying a good variety of products are vital to the card collecting hobby. For many years, they have had a difficult time being squeezed between small operators who sold at discount at shows and mass market retailers who sell at discount.

The HTA program gives the hobby retailer the best product. The HTA Application makes sure that the HTA product is sold only to retailers who qualify.

It's a bit of a hassle to apply, but the HTA program is well worth it!
